At the invitation of the Louvre, more than sixty works from the Museo de Capodimonte have exceptionally taken their place on the walls of the Parisian museum. Paintings, drawings, objets d'art and porcelain by great masters such as Masaccio, Bellini, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio and Guido Reni have joined the works of the Louvre in its historic heart, notably in the Grande Galerie.
This book presents a powerful and fruitful dialogue between two of the richest and most extensive collections of Italian art in the world. Specialists, writers and curators from both institutions explain the origin and diversity of the Capodimonte Museum's collections and offer a cross-section of Naples and Paris, highlighting the artistic exchanges that have marked the history of the two cities.
Exhibition at the musée du Louvre from June 7th 2023 to January 8th 2024.
