It is little known that before making his famous masterpiece, Leonardo da Vinci auditioned many models. Nathalie Vessié-Hodges imagined this improbable and crazy casting. Its puns as well as the multiple graphic references contribute to make this gallery of ex-futures "Jocondes" hilarious. Her illustrations, with their bold and expressive lines, in a "cartoonist" style, are made with felt pens, with which she obtains watercolour prints.
Book published in co-publication with the Louvre Museum, as part of the exceptional retrospective organized on the occasion of the five-hundredth anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death in autumn 2019.
