In collaboration with JR, Bernardaud makes a porcelain frame in a limited edition of 200 copies (only 7 copies in our boutique), like a trompe-l'oeil crumpled leaf, presenting the excavation of the Pyramid of the Louvre as seen by JR in 2019.
Inaugurated on March 29, 1989, the Pyramid became in a few years an emblem of the Musée du Louvre and Paris. As part of the 30e anniversary of the Pyramid, Musée du Louvre invites French artist JR to design a piece of art to celebrate the event.
After making the monument disappear in 2016, JR proposes to reveal its secret by creating a monumental collaborative work with the help of 400 participants, constituting his largest collage installed to date.
