Written by Géraldine Elschner and illustrated by Élise Mansot, this story revives these famous "still lifes" and makes us rediscover them through a reinvented treasure hunt...
As the house falls asleep under the holiday sun, our little narrator grabs a net and a basket, and leads us on a quest to find the most delicious fruits, those that will delight the palates of her whole family when they wake up from their nap.
Accompanied by her parrot and her cat, nothing escapes her! Oranges, apples, plums, peaches, pears, grapes, melons, cherries... The harvest is successful, now it's time to cook!
As the story unfolds, our appetite grows for the fruit scattered in every room of the house. From Bonnard to Cézanne, from Chardin to Louise Moillon, via a portrait by Arcimboldo, the illustrations invite us to look for the works in the elements of the decor.
A beautiful album in co-publication with the Louvre dedicated to the exhibition "Les Choses, une histoire de la nature morte (from 12 October 2022 to 13 January 2023).
