Alou, a honey hunter, is heading towards the wild hives of a baobab tree. Driving in 4x4s, armed to the teeth, a gang of radical Islamists rushed towards him and blew up the sacred baobab tree.
Among the debris of the baobab tree, Alou discovers, intact, a statuette representing a pregnant woman. Encouraged by his father, he went to the Dogon country to present the statuette to the village sage, the hogon, respected by all for his culture.
The hogon immediately recognizes this red Maternity. According to him, it is the work of the master of Tintam, whose first Maternity Hospital is already located in the Louvre, in the Pavillon des Sessions. For the old man, sculpture, in these times of barbarism, will be safer at the Louvre, near his sister, than here in Mali.
Entrusting the statuette to the Parisian museum is Alou's mission. And to carry it out, the young man will take all the risks by crossing deserts and seas, in the company of migrants, his sisters and brothers of misfortune.
